Architectural Symbiosis lecture

Friday, April 19th, 2013

Serban Cornea delivers a lecture on architectural symbiosis for a Chinese delegation from the National Development and Reform Commission NDRC.

NDRC is a Chinese government body responsible for the long-term economic development and reform process in China, including China’s participation in the global climate negotiations.

NDRC plays an important role for the climate and energy related development in China.

Serban Cornea addressed the issue of achieving sustainable development and attractiveness of urban environments through integrative solutions and architectural, energetic and economical symbiosis. He presented a number of innovative sustainable projects, including MUTOPIA’s sustainable mixed-use high-rise proposals for Ordos and Bejing, as well as the ongoing FoodCity, a research and development project on merging food and energy production into cities.

The lecture triggered a lot of reaction in a debate on sustainable urban development facilitated by the Danish-Chinese Business Forum, also host of the event.

MUTOPIA at State of Green in China and Rio+20

Friday, May 25th, 2012

MUTOPIA is featured at Stateofgreen.com, the official green platform for energy, climate adaptation and environmental activities in Denmark.

A Chinese version of State of Green featuring MUTOPIA as one of 40 Danish businesses focused on green solutions will be officially launched next month in Beijing to mark the signing of a cooperative agreement between Beijing and Copenhagen as sister cities.

State of Green will be an integrated part of the Danish stand at the Rio+20 Conference, and will contribute to strengthening international awareness of the solutions and competences of Danish business and industry within energy, climate and environment.

As the first country in the world, Denmark has decided to lead the transition to become a green growth economy entirely independent of fossil fuels by 2050. State of Green creates international awareness of this vision and of the innovative solutions that will pave the way.

The State of Green Consortium is operated by Climate Consortium Denmark, a public-private partnership founded by: The Branding Denmark Fund, the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Danish Energy Association, the Danish Agriculture & Food Council and the Danish Wind Industry Association. H.R.H. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark is patron of Climate Consortium Denmark.
