MUTOPIA’s proposal for the green transition of Middelfart towards becoming a Cleantech City in 2050 attracts media attention.

MUTOPIA’s proposals for Middelfart, which include the transformation of the old Lillebælt into an energy-producing living brige, as well as the creation of Middelfart Reef, a combined storm water protection, natural habitat and touristic attraction, are highlighted as ‘valuable contributions’ to the development of the city by mayor Steen Dahlstrøm.

MUTOPIA’s DK2050 innovative proposals for improving infrastructure and urban environments receive massive coverage in the Danish press.

A SkyCycle lane above the popular Tivoli amusement park, a combined vertical garden and parking for 2500 bikes wrapped around Copenhagen City Hall, along with self-sustainable ‘circle-districts’ with integrated food and energy production, are among the highlights.

MUTOPIA’s innovative work at the crossroads between architecture, urbanism, design and co-creation is featured in the latest news letter of the German International Salon and Exhibition for School Building Schulbau.

Under the title ‘Building Envelope – the DNA of end users’ a number of MUTOPIA’s ongoing school related projects are presented including The SPIRAL, Vertical Schoolyard and  X-House.

The article brings forth the multipurpose use quality of the projects, achieved through innovation based on a highly collaborative development process aimed at engaging end users in the creative process from the early project phases, along with experts, clients and stakeholders.

Serban Cornea to blog on innovation

Serban Cornea has been invited to blog on sustainability as source for architectural innovation at The Danish Architectural Press.

The Danish Architectural Press was founded in 1949 as a commercial foundation for the purpose of promoting architecture and the Danish architecture profession’s standing.

Serban’s first blog entry “From waste to food – waste as an urban-cultural resource” discusses opportunities for achieving sustainable development and attractiveness of Danish cities by combining urban development and food production.

New sports center receives great endorsement

Herlufsholm Idrætsforening (Herlufsholm sports club) April launched the project for their upcoming sports center designed by MUTOPIA. The project received great endorsement from politicians and local citizens who are looking forward to the project completion.

The multifunctional sports center mixes a range of different sports activities to create a place for all, regardless age or interest, while in the same time providing training facilities for both club members as well as self-organized activity forms.

The project has been developed as a part of MUTOPIA’s sustainable strategy for innovative sports facilities, and includes the usage of artificial sports turf as well as rainwater harvesting features.
