MUTOPIA receives 2nd prize in the open competition for the adaptive reuse of Gethsemane Church in Copenhagen.

Gethsemane cityLIFEchurch is a catalyst for urban life and sport related activities to support local self-organized sport tendencies, while strengthening Litauens Plazas role as the most significant sport promoting public space of the Vesterbro city area.

The Meat City

Next phase of the Meat City take-off in the beginning of the new year. MUTOPIA will particularly change  the street environment by designing new benches and user focused signs.

Futures Of Cities

MUTOPIA contributes to “Futures of Cities”, a publication dealing with future sustainable urban development.

The publication is gathering proposals for “Futures of Cities” from 14 Danish and international young architecture offices who participated at the IFHP 2007 Congress, an event part of the larger Copenhagen agenda for sustainable cities.

U_Build

MUTOPIA develops a software tool to support dialogue and knowledge sharing throughout a building process.

U_Build optimizes development and decision making during complex (building) processes, contributes to increasing the identity of the built environment, encourages sustainable urban development, and enables large scale participatory processes.

U_Build offers proffesionals and the public access to realtime 3D project visualizations and dialogue within a 3D environment which features functionalities for asking questions, joining discussion forums and submitting proposals.

U_Build is being developed in collaboration with innovative partners from IT and building industry-related fields of activity, 3Dfacto, Grontmij-Carl Bro, Hausenberg and Building Lab DK, and is supported by Realdania.

Reach Out!

MUTOPIA’s experiences with user focused design methods are presented in “Reach out”, a new report from the Danish Ministry of Culture.

The report offers a comprehensive view of user driven innovation processes and projects from different fields of activity, and features an article about the background and development of the CityPark, MUTOPIA’s to date largest realized project based on participatory planning.
